Since August, at Flexicel we have incorporated a static compactor at our Farga Production Plant (Esparreguera) in collaboration with SAICA, replacing conventional containers.
Thanks to this innovation, we have managed to reduce the impact of our carbon footprint by more than 400% compared to the previous system of non-compacted containers, by minimizing the number of transports required through waste compaction. This measure successfully replicates the strategy already implemented at our Fornal Plant, thus consolidating our alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
The installation of this compactor is just one of the many measures we have adopted this year, such as prioritizing circular waste management through economic and energy recovery, acquiring vertical presses, or replacing lighting with LED systems, among others.
