Basotect®

Acoustics, lightness and EcoBalanced version

Basotect® is an open-cell melamine foam known for its high acoustic absorption, low weight, and excellent fire performance. It is ideal for applications in interior architecture, HVAC, industry, and transport.

We manufacture custom panels and components with high-precision machining (cutting, milling, die-cutting) and adhesive options for fast installation.

The range also includes Basotect® EcoBalanced and Basotect® Dark EcoBalanced, combining technical performance with contemporary aesthetics and a reduced CO₂ footprint.

Basotect Dark

Key benefits

  • Outstanding acoustic performance even at low thicknesses.

  • Extremely lightweight, reducing load on ceilings, walls, or vehicles.

  • Excellent flame resistance without additional flame retardants (depending on thickness and applicable certification).

  • High thermal stability and consistent properties across a wide temperature range.

  • Precision machining: clean cutting, milling, and accurate die-cutting.

  • Advanced aesthetic options with Basotect® Dark EcoBalanced: homogeneous dark colour, modern appearance, and lower sensitivity to dirt during installation.

  • "Drop-insolution: same performance as Basotect® B EcoBalanced without requalification or investment in new machinery.

Applications

Architecture & Interior Design

  • Exposed panels, wall linings, and acoustic ceilings

  • Acoustic baffles and islands

  • Hidden acoustic filling for systems with dark textiles (ideal for Dark version, avoiding dyeing or extra coverings)

HVAC and technical equipment

  • Enclosures, ducts, ventilation units

  • Acoustic and thermal insulation in technical rooms

  • Air purification systems

Transport (subject to approvals)

  • Rail, bus, aerospace

  • Lightweighting and acoustic control solutions

Sustainability

EcoBalanced — reduced environmental impact

Basotect® EcoBalanced and Dark EcoBalanced belong to a product family with up to 50% lower PCF compared to standard grades.

They are manufactured using:

  • 100% renewable energy

  • Substitution of fossil raw materials with renewable feedstock from biowaste, allocated via mass balance certified under REDcert² / ISCC PLUS

  • Full PCF data transparency to support sustainability goals

This combination enables more sustainable products without compromising performance, safety, or aesthetics.

Material options

Basotect® B EcoBalanced (white or light grey) proven performance, low weight, high absorption.

Basotect® Dark EcoBalanced same performance with a contemporary dark finish, ideal for premium designs and high-end acoustic solutions. More information here.

Can it be installed exposed?

Yes. It can be used exposed in its original finish (including Dark version) or with surface coatings and fabrics for increased durability.

What fire classification does it have?

It depends on grade and thickness. We provide technical datasheets and updated test reports depending on your sector (construction, transport, HVAC).

Is it moisture resistant?

As an open-cell foam, additional protection is recommended in humid environments. Suitable laminations are available.

What is the difference in the Dark version?

A homogeneous dark colour for premium aesthetics, reduced dirt sensitivity during installation, and lower need for coverings when used with dark textiles.

What are the advantages of EcoBalanced?

Up to 50% lower PCF, use of renewable energy, and sustainable raw materials with recognized certifications.
